Southern Arizona Community Diaper Bank
to host 2nd Annual Dancing With Our Stars

TUCSON Looking for a repeat performance, t h e Southern Arizona Community Diaper Bank (SACDB) is having their 2nd Annual “Dancing With Our Stars.” The event, to be held on May 16 at Loews Ventana Canyon, will be showcasing the dancing skills of Tucson’s celebrities as a fundraiser for the organization.
In preparation for this event, local celebrities will undergo 10 lessons from area dance studios to learn the tango, waltz, rumba or cha-cha .
At the event, the stars will dance before a panel of judges.
The audience will also evaluate the dancers, and with the judges, to create the final score.
The evening will inc l u d e g r e a t m u s i c b y the Tom Patrick Band, cocktails, dinner, dancing, and a small live auction featuring a painting by Diana Madaras, last year’s winner and this year ‘s honorary event co-chair with Barbara LaWall.
“Last year we raised $14,000, which translates into 77,000 diapers,” says Kim Grabo, Executive Director of SACDB. “We turn those dollars into diapers and we cover a lot of babies’ bottoms.”
The local celebrity dancers for this year ‘s event are Steve Alley, Silvy Edmonds Cotton,
Scott Bronson , Faria Dretler, Jayne Henninger, Roxanne Huxley, Dan Marries, Carolyn Russo, Eric Schindler, and Susie Sherrick.
