Dancing With Our Stars 2014 a Big Success
Nancy Murphy and Luke Aldrich earned the top title of the night: 2014 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment and the audience vote for the Foxtrot.
As promised this year’s Stars set fire to the dance floor at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa. More than 420 people filled the room May 2 to cheer on their favorite dance teams and raise money for the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona.

Everyone who participated in or attended this year’s event is truly a winner. There were some who garnered just a bit more recognition May 2nd. Michael Duran earned the top vote from our judges and the audience for his Bolero; Jeannette Maré swung into first place with the judges and audience for her Swing dance; Jenny Carrillo trotted away with judges’ votes for the Foxtrot; the audience gave Robert Shaw the top vote for the Cha Cha and the judges were partial to Patrick Miller’s Cha Cha.
This year’s Stars went above and beyond fundraising goals, encouraging their supporters to stuff the ballot box in the amount of $24,180 in pursuit of the People’s Choice Award. After a strong competition until the very last moments of the evening, Nancy Murphy emerged as the winner of the 2014 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment. Each donation in support of this award helps the Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona serve more people in our community.
